Schmidt-Marken Designs is the name of the husband and wife artistic partnership between Doug Schmidt and Karen Marken, officially established in 1987. Doug and Karen work in collaboration on most of their functional pieces, signing their pots with this name. Schmidt-Marken pottery is made in their hundred year old barn which they converted into a studio and gallery/shop.
