Dear Friends of Heart of Art,
We are pleased to announce the upcoming annual Heart of Art Studio & Gallery Tour to take place October 15th and 16th 2011. Celebrating the art and artists of LaPorte County, the event is becoming a cultural destination for the area. Since its inception, the Tour has drawn thousands of attendees, a testament to the fact that it is becoming a must stop along discerning art collectors’ routes.
The Tour not only supports our local artists, but it helps fuel our county’s economy. Rain or shine, the two-day event consists of at least 50 participating artists and 15 open studios and galleries. The Tour begins at the LaPorte County Convention and Visitors Bureau where visitors receive a map directing them to the various arts destinations, and can view representative artwork from the participating artists. There is also the opportunity to attend a pre-tour reception Friday evening October 14.
It is the Heart of Art’s goal to foster the creation of new arts initiatives to benefit our community. As our event grows and prospers we would love to announce the creation of an arts education fund. The mission of the Arts Fund would be to provide grants and opportunities for emerging artists and otherwise promote innovation in the arts, in all media, in the LaPorte County area. To accomplish this mission, we seek donations from our community members, area business leaders and art patrons.
As an Artists of the Heart of Art Studio and Gallery Tour supporter you will help nurture artistic development, both in our schools and throughout the county, and assure the success of an important community event. Please consider giving your support to the Artists of the Heart of Art Studio and Gallery Tour.
After tour expenses net proceeds from donations will go toward developing an Arts Fund for the LaPorte County community projects. The enclosed reply form outlines contribution levels and accompanying benefits, including: your name listing on the tour map given to all attendees; recognition at events and in local publicity; invitations to the pre-tour reception.
All donations are tax deductible, as allowed by law.
For many years the local artists have been enriching the lives of local residents through the arts and community events. We believe the Artists of the Heart of Art Studio and Gallery Tour extends our mission by introducing talented artists and the unique beauty of our county to the greater region.
